Kristina Brown has been working in the education and grants realm for over 10 years. A Florida certified educator and an active member of the Grants Professional Association; she holds graduate degrees from Florida International University with concentrations in International/Intercultural Education, Public Administration, and demographic research through Geographic Information Systems. Her passion for culture, humanity, and global education led her to pursue a career in education and grants, management and consulting.
As a former Special Education teacher, she is all too familiar with funding losses, budget cuts, and student needs not being met. For years Kristina would spend personal time and money trying to help schools, including her own classrooms, secure additional grant funds and resources to meet the needs of the students. Her drive led her into education management and consulting, as she helped support schools and local school districts across the nation. She has managed millions of dollars in federal, state, and local grant funds for institutions across the country in places like Louisiana, Michigan, Indiana, North Carolina, Georgia, and Florida.
She has developed tools to help schools and districts alike build capacity in their knowledge of grants, school improvement planning, and attain fiscal and programmatic compliance through comprehensive education program development, strategically driven budget development, and implementing processes and procedures to ensure efficiency while lowering indirect costs across the organizations. Her work has saved schools and governments agencies around the country thousands of dollars and has led to proven improved organizational effectiveness.
